On the Water Inc.

Thank You Veterans!

In the true spirit of volunteerism and to give back and say “Thank You” to veterans that have given so much to all of us and our country, what was started in 2012 by one person, honoring one veteran for one day, is now On the Water, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 North Dakota nonprofit organization with dozens of volunteers and more than 50 local sponsoring partners.  Together we are serving more than 100 combat veterans each year through four, one-day OTW summer veterans fishing programs, events and other outdoor activities and use of the seasonal OTW Veterans Cabin. All programs including use of the Veterans Cabin are provided to veterans at zero cost.

OTW events and opportunities are available to U.S. military veterans who served our country in overseas conflicts or who have service-connected disabilities.

Veteran OTW Fishing Experiences

Nick – “Hey Chuck, my hat is off to you and the organization for making this day the most incredible time I have ever had on the water. Can you send me the picture that was taken of the fish I caught? If you get the group picture could you send it as well? Thank you so much for your commitment to the vets and may God continue to bless you and the organization.

Kirby – “I would like to thank Chuck from On the Water for providing disabled veterans a way to get out of the house and go fishing. This meant a lot to me because there have been times when getting out of the house seemed impossible. Being able to get out and go fishing was something that I needed from the standpoint of mental and emotional health. Though the event turned out to be very big with lots of people and lots of boats, I especially liked being able to get into a boat with just a couple of people who didn’t ask questions about uncomfortable military events. Having gone to a couple of fishing events has helped me in ways I can’t describe. Just being able to get out and talk with people in that setting has been great.”

Mitch – “I can’t thank you enough for including my family yesterday! Thank you for what you and your organization do to support veterans!

Kay – “Thanks so much for the relaxing week I had at Indian Hills. What a wonderful experience you provide for veterans.”

Grayson – “Such an amazing event! Thank you and On the Water, Inc. for hosting us boys from Wyoming to your state and accommodating us in your fantastic cabin. Huge thank you to all the volunteer captains that hauled our butts around in the rain to catch some walleye.”

Dale – “I had the privilege of being one of the veterans who took part in the fishing day last Saturday. I just want to say I had a GREAT time and wish to thank you and the other volunteers who put on such a great event. I especially want to thank my fishing hosts for providing great company and great equipment to make my day. They were truly a pleasure to fish with and get to know. Thank you for all you do for veterans and good luck fishing.”

Doug and Kathy – “Thank you. It’s hard to put our gratitude into words. Had a wonderful time. Please accept our donation so that other veterans can enjoy the solitude the way we have.”
